Health Care Protest: Unintentional Gold.

 

Interestingly, it seems as though she would be the most likely of all those present to have a pubic option.  Seems disingenuous of her to argue against her seated friend's right to social-ism.  That's the problem with conservatives.  It's all about their privates options, with no regard to the general pubic.

Best Church of God - Westboro Protest

The BCOG had the great privelege today of assisting the Westboro Baptist Church, those righteous christians who spread their message of God's hate to the funerals of our enlisted servicemen.  They came to Chicago to protest, among others, noted Jew and stand-up comedian, Don Rickles.

Below you can find us protesting along side them, politely reminding them of the other commandments God has given us in that unquestionable work of fact, the Bible.  Think of it as a co-protest.  We're just there to keep everyone focused on God's message.

I made those signs myself -- using the Bible, some paper, and the tool of Satan himself, Microsoft Word.  Sometimes, my loyal believers, Satan's own Word can be used against him.

Here's what the Westboro Church is missing.  Fact #1: Don Rickles is a Jew.  Jews notoriously love Bagels.  Bagels contain Yeast.  Yeast is proscribed over 40 times in the Bible. 

Fact #2:  Don Rickles is a senior citzien.  Senior citizens need a high-fiber diet.  Figs have the most fiber of any fresh fruit.  Therefore Don Rickles likely eats figs.  Jesus specifically condemned the fig tree in the bible because he was peckish and the tree didn't have any fruit on it.

Moustache Rides: One Trillion Dollars.

So... I was checking out Obama's press conference about his first 100 days in office, and I couldn't help but notice that Mr. President is rocking a real 100-o'clock shadow here.

So that got me thinking about facial hair and race politics.  If you think that Al Gore got shit for growing a William Riker after he lost the election, can you imagine the shit that Obama would get for growing an Isaac Hayes?  That would lose him the election.  So I thought I'd do a little public service by giving Obama the facial hair he so richly deserves (and seems to be beating back less effectively nowadays).

I'm watching the Senate Hearing on the proposed Automotive Bailout right now, and I have to say, C-SPAN has never been more interesting.  Debbie Stabenow, senator from Michigan, absolutely killed it in her argument favoring a bailout.  

One major prong of her argument was this:  it will cost much more to the american taxpayer for these giants to fail than the 25 billion it will take to keep them alive.  Pension costs, unemployment costs, not to mention the kind of large and ambiguous loss of american manufacturing power to our aerospace and defense capabilities.  One in 10 American jobs in is connected to American Automotive companies.  The collapse of The Big Three would cause an unprecedented economic collapse in this country.  Okay, got it.

But still, many Republicans are vehemently against this bailout.  Why, after swallowing the 1 trillion dollar bailout just weeks before?  Then a thought occurred to me:  are Republicans trying to saddle the new Obama Administration with a tougher economic nut to crack in order to sweeten the pot for the 2010 elections?  

I normally try not to promote progressive hysteria, but it seems to me that one of the biggest losers in the case of a further economic collapse would be the Obama Administration and its grand plans for environmental and social policy.

What politician doesn't like a good Caucus?

From the Associated Press today:

A Republican senator says he regrets pleading guilty this month to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge after his arrest in a public restroom.

Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho was apprehended June 11 by a plainclothes police officer investigating complaints of lewd behavior in a men's room at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in Minnesota.

Stories like this warm the cockles of my heart. And there's only one thing to do with warm cockles.

And now it's time to play my favorite game that helps parse news stories about stone-throwing closet-cases... That’s what HE said!

Craig denied any inappropriate conduct in a prepared statement…

Craig was named in February as a liaison to build support for Mit Romney.

Minnesota law defines disorderly conduct as brawling, disturbing a meeting or engaging in "offensive, obscene, abusive, boisterous or noisy conduct."

YEAH MAN. That IS what he said!

A former rancher, Craig was first elected to the Senate in 1990 after serving a decade in the House of Representatives. His seat is up for re-election in 2008.

He has supported a federal constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, telling his colleagues that it was "important for us to stand up now and protect traditional marriage, which is under attack by a few unelected judges and litigious activists."

In 1996, Craig also voted in favor of the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal recognition to same-sex marriages and prevents states from being forced to recognize the marriages of gay and lesbian couples legally performed in other states.
